Perfect for special occasions or to enhance a collection of high-quality wines.
THE WINE
Cantina Riccio's Taurasi DOCG wine has an intense ruby color with garnet reflections, to the nose it offers a broad and complex bouquet, intense, with spicy hints of pepper and nutmeg and elegant balsamic nuances that blend with sensations of ripe plum and licorice and coffee. The taste is warm, fat, opulent, but also extremely fresh and savory, with a dense tannic texture. The tasting leaves a long memory of ripe fruit and roasting in the mouth. A wine of great character, to accompany game and noble game, with great aged cheeses.
THE GRAPES AND THE VINEYARD
Obtained from Aglianico grapes from selected vineyards in the municipality of Lapio and Montemarano. The time of harvest is determined by the values of the ripening parameters (in particular acidity and sugars) and the health of the berries.
THE VINIFICATION
The wine is the result of a selection of grapes of extraordinary concentration and superior organoleptic qualities, to which the quality of the land and the very low production per plant contribute. The contact of the must with the skins is long and intense and up to four punching down are carried out every day. At the end of fermentation, the wine is transferred to French oak barriques where the malolactic fermentation takes place. The wine is aged in barriques for about 12-15 months and for about 12 months in the bottle.

Our history
At a little less than 700 meters high and immersed in the green of the rich hilly tradition of the territory, the Riccio Winery is located in one of the most characteristic villages of the Irpinia soil, Chiusano di San Domenico, where the charm of ancient places fits into the ferment of vegetation and a landscape of extraordinary vitality. The presence of strong slopes makes it perfectly suited to the cultivation of the vine and the abundant supply of waterways, accompanied by a particularly favorable wind effect, give the wines produced in the area excellent quality characteristics.
The environment and philosophy
In such a context, thanks to the careful and personal care of Giuseppe De Marco, it was possible to combine the use of the most advanced viticultural cultivation and production techniques with the skilful work of expert hands and passionate men. The fruit of the vine, offered by a favorable and generous land, is thus ennobled in a product of the highest quality (the "Janus wines") that is aimed at the most refined palates and the most demanding tastes.
